Aguero out for three months minimum

Man City legend Sergio Aguero has been ruled out for at least three months as a result of a heart issue, FC Barcelona have confirmed.

The 33-year-old joined Barcelona on a free transfer during the summer after his contract at City expired.

He has played five times so far this term and he scored his first goal for the club during Barcelona’s El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid.

Aguero was brought off against Alaves over the weekend as he was suffering chest pains. BBC Sport have reported that he had cardiological tests in hospital after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Barcelona confirmed via Twitter on Monday that he will be out for at least three months due to a heart issue:

“Aguero has been subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr. Josep Brugada.

“He is unavailable for selection and, during the next three months, the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process.”
